PostMerchant's Lift – AI-powered underwriting tools

PostMerchant's Lift platform handles merchant onboarding for payment processors. We built AI-powered underwriting tools for Lift: website review, statement analysis, and rule-based adjudication. Underwriters now get structured, consistent risk assessments in minutes instead of spending an hour or more per merchant doing it by hand. For Lift, it means processors get a complete underwriting workflow in one platform rather than stitching together separate tools.

The AI Underwriting Tool dashboard: lead activity, application pipeline, and merchant portfolio at a glance

Building Lift meant reimagining underwriting from the ground up. Enabled Minds turned that vision into reality—an AI decisioning engine that analyzes websites, bank statements, and merchant processing data to deliver fast, consistent decisions. They didn't just meet our requirements; they accelerated our entire AI roadmap.

01 · Challenge

An hour or more per merchant, by hand

For underwriters

Reviewing a merchant's website meant manually checking dozens of data points: business legitimacy, policy pages, contact details, pricing transparency, prohibited content. A single review could take 30 minutes or more, and some risk signals are deliberately buried where even a careful reviewer can miss them.

Statement analysis was just as demanding. Bank and processing statements arrive in different formats, and pulling the right numbers out of each one takes real time to get right.

For Lift as a platform

Payment processors shopping for underwriting software expected more than onboarding automation. Without built-in due diligence tools, Lift covered only part of the workflow, and processors still had to rely on separate tools or manual processes for the core underwriting work.

Statement analysis output: standardized totals, volumes, and derived metrics extracted from a processing statementRule-based adjudication: processing-statement conditions with met and failed statuses and per-rule override controls

02 · Solution

3 tools, one underwriting workflow

01

Website review

An AI agent evaluates a merchant's site against underwriting criteria: policy presence and completeness, contact info verification, pricing anomalies, prohibited content, and legitimacy signals. The output is a structured report with specific flags and supporting evidence, so underwriters can decide faster without gathering everything themselves.

02

Statement analysis

Bank and processing statements go through OCR, then an AI agent extracts the relevant underwriting data and highlights risk indicators. The output is standardized regardless of statement format, layout, or source institution, so underwriters see clean, comparable data every time.

03

Rule-based adjudication and agent helper

The layer that ties it all together. Underwriters define rules for automatic approval, rejection, or manual review. When a merchant needs manual review, the agent pulls context from the website review and statement analysis into a single view and adds contextual analysis of the full application. Every data point the AI tools surface can be mapped to adjudication rules, so the system gets sharper as processors refine their criteria.

03 · Results

Structured decisions in minutes

Faster review cycles

Underwriters spend far less time on manual review. Website checks that used to take half an hour or more now produce structured results in minutes, and statement analysis runs automatically—reliable even across inconsistent formats, with standardized output every time.

Due diligence built in

Embedding AI into the core underwriting workflow gave Lift a real edge over competing platforms. Processors evaluating Lift now get onboarding and due diligence in one place instead of piecing together separate tools.
